Washington Street and Rt. 306).

Learn the tools you will need for a healthier you including medications and treatment decisions, fitness and exercise information, breathing exercises, managing pain, fatigue and difficult emotions and symptom cycles.

Hear from trained leaders who understand first-hand what you are experiencing. Set-up weekly goals and make a step-by-step plan to improve your health and your life. This class is sponsored by the West Geauga Senior Center.

Laszlo Harmat, D.O., is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon who is fellowship trained in conditions of the shoulder, elbow and hand.  He earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from John Carroll University and his doctor of osteopathic medicine degree from the Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Several people have asked questions about the waiting list at The Weils, our senior living campus in Chagrin Falls, trying to understand what it means to them and to the Montefiore community. As I write this, we have several families on the waiting list for assisted living suites at our building. If you, your friends, or your parent or another relative have been wondering what assisted living feels like, it makes sense to come by now for a tour.

Palestinian prisoners, many of them hardened killers, it marks the end of five years of agony and returns Israel to one of its core values: never to abandon one of its sons in the field of warfare.

Montefiore is partnering with the Jewish Federation of Cleveland’s Jewish Volunteer Network (JVN) and the National Council of Jewish Women – Cleveland Section – to collect items for the homeless community that will be donated to InterAct Cleveland’s Homeless Stand Down. Please consider donating the following NEW items for men, women and children:

• Pre-packaged socks
• Wash cloths
• Pre-packaged underwear
• Towels

Simply place your items in the box marked “Operation Warm-Up” in the Montefiore lobby. Everything will be collected on a daily basis until Friday, January 20, 2012. Thank you for your support!

Professor Pawlik, a member of the history and political science faculty at Tri-C, grew up in Cleveland and Middleburg Heights. He received a juris doctorate degree from Harvard Law School. He earned a B.A. in history and political science while attending the Ohio State University where he was a William Green Scholar. Professor Pawlik also received an M.A. in American Legal and Constitutional History from OSU. He also teaches at Baldwin-Wallace College and Urusline College.

Thomas O’Reilly, MS, PCC-S, a foremost authority on mediation and counseling, will be the featured speaker at a special CEU morning event entitled “Ethics: Principles, Practices and Parameters” on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at The Weils, 16695 Chillicothe Road (Rt. 306) in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. (Just north of East Washington Street.)

7:30 am: Registration and sumptuous breakfast buffet.
8:30 am – 11:30 am: Workshop and presentation.

This event is open to all social workers, counselors, nurses and case managers
– who can earn 3.0 CEUs.

Mr. O’Reilly is a counselor, mediator, mental health therapist and national public speaker.
He is the president of A Better Way and provides drug-free safety training to companies who seek to have, or currently have, a drug-free safety program for their employees. His counseling practice includes working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, families and older adults on a wide array of emotional and personal issues. He holds a BS in Business Administration from The Ohio State University and an MS in Marriage and Family Therapy from The University of Akron.

Program highlights: Learn basic history, definitions and principles of ethics; engage in case scenarios and apply principles learned; dialogue about what limits exist that define the parameters of ethics; and gain insights into the various models of ethics in healthcare.

“The Weils Bunch” show off their “Weils side” at Gross Schechter’s 19th annual Kosher Rib Burnoff this past Labor Day.  Their crowd-pleasing ribs were prepared with a unique flavorful recipe of fresh berries and sweet and tart barbeque sauce created by Avery Bolden, The Weils executive chef and dining services director.
