A SOURCE OF COMFORT & STRENGTH

In the last few weeks, I have experienced first-hand the amazing work of Montefiore’s hospice services. Despite the circumstances, I was able to find a positive note in a tragic, too-soon ending of life to a life well-lived of a very close friend of mine.

He had reached the end stage of a powerful form of cancer. Faced with the most difficult decision when treatment options had vanished, our Director of Hospice Services, Diane Korman, met with him and his wife. Diane’s counsel enabled him to intelligently choose its services.

The Weils Announces “ZERO Deficiencies” from the Ohio Department of Health for its Rehabilitation Pavilion – Achieves Perfect Score!

The Ohio Department of Health (ODH) rated The Rehabilitation Pavilion at The Weils “deficiency free” in health services after spending three days in the facility examining the quality of care provided over the past year.  A team of surveyors observed medication pass, treatments, dining services and therapy – as well as interviewing staff and patients. In addition, the surveyors examined medical records, and other documentation required by state law guidelines. The process validates compliance status with state and federal regulations that govern skilled nursing facilities.

“We are thrilled that in our first year of operation, we received this top rating. We commend our staff for the consistent high quality of care they provide patients and their families each and every day. It’s very gratifying,” stated Ella Barney, administrator for The Weils and The Rehabilitation Pavilion at The Weils. “We have a truly dedicated team who strive for excellence.  A deficiency-free rating reflects top quality care and hard work.”

The entire facility — including all clinical and operational systems — is scrutinized from “stem to stern” following all state and federal regulations. These annual inspections are conducted to ensure compliance with Medicare requirements.
